An app that keeps your apps locked until you pray

Reminders are easy to ignore. Prayer Proof makes the prayer itself the key that unlocks your apps.

The problem with reminders

An adhan notification is a suggestion. You can swipe it away and keep scrolling. Salah Mode fixes that by pausing your apps at prayer time. Prayer Proof takes it one step further.

How Prayer Proof works

  1. Turn on Prayer Proof in HayatTime's Salah Mode.
  2. Register your prayer mat with a few photos from different angles.
  3. At prayer time your chosen apps lock, as usual.
  4. To unlock them, open HayatTime and take a photo of your prayer mat or the masjid.
  5. When it matches, your apps come back.

Private by design

The photo check runs entirely on your iPhone. Photos are never uploaded and never saved to your library. HayatTime cannot see them.

Is it a replacement for sincerity?

No, and it is not meant to be. Only Allah knows what is in the heart. Prayer Proof is simply a speed bump between you and the scroll, so the prayer happens first. Many people use it for a few weeks until praying on time becomes a habit, then relax it.

The same photo check powers the Fajr Alarm, which only stops ringing when you photograph your sink or prayer mat.

Quick answers

How does Prayer Proof verify I prayed?

You register your prayer mat with a few photos. At prayer time, your blocked apps stay locked until you take a photo that matches your mat, or a photo of a masjid. The check runs on your iPhone.

Are the photos uploaded?

No. Photos are checked on the device with Apple's on-device image recognition and are never uploaded or saved to your photo library.
